Secure Your Devices

Update, update and update

Regardless if you are using a Windows, MacOS or Linux operating system on your computer, you should always install the latest updates. The same rule applies for your iOS or Android phone and/or tablet and any other internet connected device

Full disk encryption

Full disk encryption will keep your data secure if you lose or get your laptop or phone stolen. BitLocker is the easiest option for Windows machines, FileVaultis used for MacOS and LUKS on Linux systems. iOS devices are encrypted by default, and so should be newer versions of Android phones. Do not forget to encrypt your USB sticks as well.

Use an Anti-Virus

IfusingWindows, alwayskeepWindowsDefenderenabledattheveryminimum. Whilst MacOS and Linux systems are less of a target than Windows, it is suggested to also use an antivirus on the latter systems as well

Use long and secure passwords

Do not use easy or short passwords for your computer. Do not use a four digits PIN for your mobile devices
